Ingredients

Orange Teriyaki Glaze
  • 0.33 cup orange juice
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 garlic, minced
Salmon and Garnish
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 0.25 sesame seeds for garnish
  • 0.25 sliced scallions for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 small saucepan

Method

Preheat and start the glaze
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil so the salmon bakes evenly and releases cleanly.
  2. Whisk the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic together in a small saucepan.
  3. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, until slightly thickened, and reserve half for serving.
Bake and finish
  1. Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet and brush generously with the remaining glaze.
  2. Bake for 12–15 minutes at 400°F, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Drizzle the reserved glaze over the hot salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced scallions before serving.

Notes

Pro tip: keep brushing the glaze on thickly before baking so it caramelizes into a sticky coating. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days; reheat gently at 300°F until warmed through. Freezing is not recommended for best texture. For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
